Scapes (2022)
Made from butcher’s paper, Black acrylic paint, Black pencil and black pen
120cm x 200cm
Scapes explores the representation of land and challenges how we perceive the spaces around us. Constructed from woven butcher’s paper with acrylic, pencil, and pen, the work plays with ideas of connection between people, places, and memories. Its shifting perspectives suggests a cityscape, while on the ground it resembles a map. The organic quality of the paper and the shadows cast by loose edges evoke both fabric and architecture. Through these layered references, Scapes encourages viewers to reflect on their own experiences of place and to look beyond the lines.
